Physical Illnesses
Now that a lot of people across the country have stopped wearing masks, more common illnesses are occurring. COVID cases are increasing again; common respiratory illnesses are resurging; so, what do you do to prevent yourself from getting sick? Or to get better if you do become ill?
- Make good decisions about crowds and travel
- Get adequate sleep every night
- Drink plenty of water and other healthy liquids
- If you do get sick, take care of yourself
- Contact your primary health provider to determine what the illness is and what type of medication you need to assist you to get better
When you don’t feel well, it’s very difficult to focus on your work, or any projects. Then you begin to notice that your mental and emotional well being are lacking.
Most important aspect of well-being
Are we really aiming for every day to have maximum well-being in all aspects of our life? That’s impossible because we ourselves are not perfect. Is there any part of our health aspects that is more important than another? I think so – spiritual well-being! Because, regardless of my physical, psychological, or emotional well-being, my spiritual health is the most important health to maintain.
I could be dying or in terrible physical health, but I could be at peace because of my spiritual well-being, my relationship with God. So if I’m sick right now, I have to make some adjustments to take care of whatever my physical needs are, to focus on what is important.
This world is not perfect. So, if I aim for perfection, then I’m not functioning in this world. It should be clear that no one is 100% healthy in all aspects — physically, mentally, psychologically, and spiritually. That even varies over time. We recognize that because of an awareness that we carry with us. An awareness of all the others. We have a core that connects all these aspects of wellbeing. We have something that connects all our concepts of health together.
We make an adjustment – I am physically not healthy, but I can feel spiritually in touch with my Creator. Since my Creator controls me, I don’t control Him. So, I’m telling my Creator, thank you for this physical illness. If I were to go through life feeling like nothing was wrong; that the world is perfect as it is, that is not reality. That’s not the well-being I feel. The well-being I feel is that I’m in touch with God and He with me. And no matter what happens to me today or any day, nothing will ever change that fact.
Warm Regards,
